Mercury32 + SpamHalter + Ubuntu 9.10 + WINE !!

Hello all,

I have just moved my Mercury32 to Ubuntu 9.10 with wine. All looks good and seems to be working, but, when i send a email i get the following in SMTP client.......

"NS Error: resolv: sethtent() could not open hosts file etc\hosts, errn

NS Error: resolv: gethtent() could not open hosts file etc\hosts, errn"

This repeats a few times, then it says...."processing job MO0000?? Resolved MX for '??????.com'"

Then email sends fine, it happens on every email being sent.Emails being recieved are processed no problem.

Thanks for any help,

Troy

Currently I run Mercury32 + Spamhalter on my windows 2003 server.

I'm looking to move to Ubuntu 9.10... but will Mercury32 + Spamhalter work OK on Ubuntu + WINE..

I have read the other threads on this.. but all advice, suggestions and comments are welcome.

Thanks :)

Works fine except that you will have to run Mercury as root if you want to use ports below 1024.  I'm running Mercury/32 on a Ubuntu 9.10 workstation and the only problem I have is with SSL.  I use STunnel for Windows to allow the use of SSL since I could not get the STunnel for Linux to work.

How about spamhalter ??

Can't remember if I'm running it or not.  I'm not at home so I will not be able to check until after the 21st when I return from the cruise. I really think I at least tested it but I can't be sure.

I'd be grateful if you could check.

I'd be grateful if you could check.

I've turned it on and the Spamhalter is loading and tagging.  Since I really do not use this I'm not at all sure it really works though.
