Received mails being clipped to one page
Thanks Martin but the lines are properly word-wrapped.
Perhaps you and Martin are talking about different things here. It's not the way emails are displayed, but the way they are stored or sent. So you may see lines being properly word-wrapped despite the fact they are too long for Pegasus to handle.

Not that Pegasus is to blame. Pegasus complies to the 998 character limit imposed by internet standards, but many other mailers do not. This is especially true for HTML formatted email, notably from Hotmail. Some services seem to think that because there is no line length limit in HTML they need not care about email standards.

To find out if this is the problem, you need to open the message in Notepad (or a similar editor) with line wrapping disabled. Copy the message to Pegasus' New mail folder, then open the most recent .CNM file in your email directory on disk. If there are very long lines, then that is causing trouble. You can cut those lines into shorter ones, if you like, to fix the message.

Ver 4.51 in Vista

This is new - many of my incoming mails are being clipped off about one page down from the top. This is extremely frustrating as I no longer get many forwards or even my original message when receiving a response.

Thanks in advance for your help.

It sounds like the lines in your message are not ending with a Carriage Return and Linefeed characters (CRLF) so the message is being processed as a single line. We would need to confirm that.

Thanks Martin but the lines are properly word-wrapped.  It happens (for example) when I write my friend a msg and he replies with my orginal included. Mine will be chopped off in mid-paragraph.

This also happens when he sends out group stuff to our organization members and he insists that others are not having the same problem - but then perhaps they are simply not reporting it and the problem is with his email provider (Hotmail).

His is not the only email I have experienced this same problem with however...

Many people will never even comment if the mail is totally unreadable.

1.  What are you using for line length?  If your lines are too long (i.e. greater than 68 characters) the receiver may wrap them to fit within their shorter line length,

2.  Are you sending plain text or HTML mail?  if you are sending HTML then this also can be a problem for the receivers mail client replying.
