Pegasus Mail does have a timeout setting in the POP3 setup.  This should be set to at least 120 seconds and I recommend that you use 300 seconds.  This may fix the problem.

That said, I doubt it.  I suspect that the real problem is that the NOD32 proxy setting between Pegasus Mail and the server is causing the problem.  Have you tried turning it off to see what happens?  If it works fine with the proxy turn off then you're going to have to figure out how to fix the NOD32 proxy.

Personally I would use Virscan instead of the proxy to protect the system.

Turn off NOD32 scanning of incoming mail, it is redundant when using Pegasus (no OE / OL vulnerabilities or auto execution of code).

I will try this. (Quivering slightly !)  Thank you for responding.

If an email virus gets past your ISP's filters and gets downloaded by Pegasus, executing the attachment is the only way to activate it.

Even if you do choose to run the infected attachment, the NOD32 real time scanner will (probably) catch it at that point.

I have many virii stored on my HDD (you never know when one may come in handy [6]), they are no problem unless you execute the nasty code they contain.
