Restoring Pegasus on a new PC

OK, that worked.

I reinstalled 4.51, the same version I'd been using, in the same place: C:\PMAIL so it was C:\PMAIL\Programs

I copied over the backed up MAIL file: C:\PMAIL\MAIL

And that was that...

Thanks.

After a fried motherboard, had to move to a completely new installation of XP, on a new PC. What I have from backup is a PMAIL folder, containing a MAIL folder with several accounts in subfolders (only one of which I actually need), plus the Programs folder, which has 4.51.

How do I go about restoring the whole thing? I will have to do a new install of Pegasus, and copy over whatever's needed from the backup. I'm not clear on how to associate the new installation with the old data. I'd like to get everything, the old messages, distrib lists, filtering rules, etc.

Thanks!

If you simply copy the backup to the same place & drive (e.g. C:\PMAIL) on your new PC and create a new shortcut to winpm-32.exe on your desktop, it should carry on from where you left off.

Do you mean, including the old Programs file?

I've already installed the newest version, 4.52, on the new machine. Should I remove that?
