Large email blocking incoming mail

Hi,

I am living in China and I had the same problem some years ago, internet was very slow by then. The second option that Thomas suggests worked for me, I increased the timeout setting to 3 minutes.

If your connection is slow, what I often do is go to tools>internet options>receiving>(here you select the account that you work with)>edit>download controls. I set the "Do not download any message larger than..." to 100,000 bytes. So you only download emails smaller than 100Kb. After you have downloaded them, set it back to zero, and you can download the large email while you work on the smaller ones

Good luck

Marc

I can't receive large emails into my 'New mail' box. They appear at the ISP end as I can view them with the webmail application. I get an error message that connection has been lost and the rest of the mail - regardless of size - is prevented from downloading. To remedy I have to remove the offending large email via webmail this unblocks the system allowing the rest of the mail to filter into Pegasus.

 Thanks.

Steve

1.    Have you tried "Selective mail download" to get rid of the large message on the host?

2.    Have you increased the Tools | Internet options | (Receiving)POP3  timeout setting to ensure there is no timeout when downloading?
