Hungry process eats my CPU
I am killing a process with the same name as the main one--winpm-32.exe.  As for a pattern, it may be that this occurs (sometimes) when a character is first typed in the To field, and at least once this happened after Pegasus was invoked with a "File/Send Link" menu choice from Firefox.  I have also seen a process called W???PICK.EXE sticking around at the same time.
It would really help to find a distinct patter. How often does this happen? Did you consider changing your WinSock settings as suggested in the other thread I pointed to before (Go to Tools => Options => Advanced settings and set Load

Windows Internet Services ... to Always, then restart

Pegasus Mail.)?

This is a bug report--maybe this isn't the right place for it, but it's never been clear to me where they ought to go.

Every once in a while Pegasus spawns a process that uses 25-50% of my cpu (as reported by Windows Task Mgr), and doesn't stop.  Even when I quit or terminate the Pegasus application, that process remains.  The cure is to kill the process and restart Pegasus.  I could maybe gather more information, but need guidance as to what is wanted.

This is on Win 7 64 bit system.

Well, our senior members would probably decide what to class as a bug and report to the developer. Someone will soon post with info about possible causes and remedies.

In the meantime, what would help quite a lot would be the name of the process you are killing. Also, if you could try and notice if there is a pattern to when the problem occurs, such as after you try to do a certain task, that might also be helpful.

Thanks!

Exactly, but you may also want to read my reply in the following thread. It might help (although there's no other process involved).
