error msg ; intermittent lag when typing

hey tony,

1) I don't think so  - the error msg distinctly shows up after I've done something with/in a folder (and also shows up after I've composed a new email and hit 'send').

anyway, just to be safe, I've gone ahead and reindexed ALL my folders just now.

2) yes, installed locally. however, I've since discovered that the lag shows up not just in pegasus, but across any & all(?) of my apps.

in fact, I had a little lag just now, typing...

hi all,

I'm having a couple of little problems which would be nice to get resolved:

 1) for a long time now I keep getting the error msg "data error encountered in folder" ... ** probable invallid offset in index record ** when I click on a folder (not every time I click on a folder but often enough to be annoying).

I just click "OK" and go on and everything seems to be fine.

if I re-index the folder as the error msg suggests, that doesn't make any difference I can detect.

2) I recently switched to win7 and since then there's an intermittent lag when I type within pegasus - it simply stops responding to keyboard input for a few seconds and then is ok again as if nothing happened.

at first I thought it might be an 'autosave' delay, but even after I increased that to 999min. it still happens (and happens at irregular intervals).

also, I upgraded to 4.52 (from 4.12) and that didn't make any difference either.

I'm grateful for any suggestion(s) you may have for me....

1) Maybe it's a different folder than the one you are indexing?

 2) I am on windows 7 and sometimes see a delay as you described.  I am running Pegasus 4.52 from a Novell mapped drive and assumed it was some type of network congestion.  Do you have Pegasus installed locally?

Regards,

Tony
