pmail freezes when copying or moving email

Michael,

That did it. Thank you very much - you're my hero of the day.

Michael,

That did it. Thank you very much - you're my hero of the day.

Mark

I recently moved from a 32bit Vista machine to Win7 64bit. When I click on the copy or move button in any folder in Pegasus, the software freezes until I hit the escape key. I can still move the email by drag and drop. I'm using Pegasus 4.52, the current version, which is for 32 bit machines but which is supposed to work on 64bit Win7 according to the download page.

I can't find a fix. If anyone can help, I'd very much appreciate it. And talk down to me - though I've been using Pegasus for about 15 years, I'm not a techie.

Thanks,

Mark

Does the folder selection window show up? I suppose it doesn't (it's probably located somewhere outside your screen). If so open Help => About Pegasus Mail => Info to look up the name of your mailbox directory (New mailbox location or Home mailbox location), open the respective directory (using the Windows Explorer) and search for the file STATE.PMJ. You can open it (after closing Pegasus Mail!) with a simple text editor (such as the former Notepad, don't know how it's now called on your version of Windows 7), then search for the section called [SELFOL] and remove any entries within it (probably only a single one if using the English version exclusively) and save the file. After restarting Pegasus Mail the folder selection dialog should show up in its default position and size.
