Right margin

Sharkfin, you have solved an ages long problem for me. It was the option I never checked.

Thanks, George

Probably an old question but it has bugged me for years.

I can't get my right margin to extend beyond about 50 characters. Am using plain text.

Under special, I have set the margin to everything up to (currently) 700 for message width.

Using a series of "w" the line wraps at about 33 characters. With "x" wraps at about 50.

I feel jinxed. Help please.

George

Please confirm whether you have checked the option "Disable all text styling options (never send styled mail)". This option changes between a mode where line length is measured by the number of characters and the more word processor-like measurement by millimetres (or inches).

I use plain text most of the time but I actually use the second mode, so I just want to clarify what your settings are, even though you say you use plain text.

EDIT: I forgot to say also that I wonder whether you are failing to notice the line extending off to the side of the window. I can make my lines continue to the right of the editing area before wrapping. I don't get a horizontal scroll bar so its not obvious - at least when your line consists of "wwwwwwwwwwwwww..." rather than normal words.
