Bearhtml 4.6.9 available

The display of CSS tags problem is now fixed in Bearhtml 4.6.9 revision.  The problem has been seen in two cases. First the Style tags were in the Body area of the html stream, and in the second case there were no Style definitions at all.

For those of you that downloaded already, please redo the downloads of Bear469.zip from this Community site.

A new version of Bearhtml is now available in the Downloads area of this community. It has several updates including a solution for the empty box characters produced by MS Outlook.  It can be downloaded from:

http://community.pmail.com/files/folders/pegadd/entry24411.aspx

Please feedback any problems to me at irelam@telus.net  or post information to the Community forum.

Excellent, thanks.

While I'm here, a couple of quick questions:

  1. Are you the actual BearHTML developer or do you just 'convert' it or something to make it work with Pegasus?
  2. Is there a full changelog available? Just interested.

Hello,

I am the author of Bearhtml, which in turn uses a Delphi component called HtmlView. I wrote the interface and the add-ons to make an html renderer useful in an SMTP world.

I have the history log on my website, http://www3.telus.net/public/irelam/BearHist.htm

Hello Martin,

Today I installed the version 4.6.9 upgrade (over version 4.6.3).

Now I see many HTML mail showing CSS information in text form before showing the actual message.

At first glance I noticed that it seems to be when the style information is embedded in the head part of the HTML message.

Is this by design (perhaps malformed CSS), something gone wrong on my side or a bug?

Kind regards,

Maikel

Type in Shift + Ctrl + R to remove the CSS information. It is occuring because the creator of the message put the Style tag in the body of the message instead of th header block. To make this change permanent, add a line in Bearhtml.ini that says WantCSS=yes

I forgot to mention you need to close the message and re-open it after keying in the Shift + Ctrl + R   :-((

Thanks for the tip.

Unfortunately, some messages become unreadable. As if all text is hidden.

I checked and the style information is in the header part.

To read such a message I have to click on the HTML text part in the attachment tab.

Mind you, this has always been the case, so I'm used to it and can live with it.

Regards,

Maikel
