Pegasus Mail Suggestions
Tag Messages by Project and Client

Opera and Lotus Notes work like that - and in that way they are unique :)

I've always wanted Pegasus to be able to group or categorise messages by "other party" - across all their different email addresses, formats, my replies to them, and any other emails they appear in, or even threads they have been involved in at some time. That would be a great start. Maybe it can do it if I set up aliases in the address book, but I've never used the address book - quite often I can't recall the name of a customer or vendor, so I have to find a past message some way.

I have an idea for a workflow improvement feature that I think could be completely unique to Pegasus.  Something that would actually improve the productivity of E-Mail itself (which has become a daily drudge for most people).

Most of us file away old e-mails by sender, project, client or vendor - but it's nearly impossible to file using all four criteria simultaneously.  When it comes time to SEARCH for e-mails at some future date, you really want to be able to look for e-mails that fit MULTIPLE categories/criteria.  For example, I might want to see all of the e-mails that "John" sent to me when we worked together on that "Widget" project for "Acme Corporation".  Similarly, you could imagine a case where you might want to search for e-mails that ANY "vendor" sent to you while you were working on the "widget" project.  Or....you could imagine a case where you want to search for all e-mail "receipts" received when working on the "widget" project.

You get the idea.  That would be a way more useful search criteria and tool.

So my suggestion is to add the abilility to tag messages by arbitrary fields such as "project name", "client name", "vendor name", "issue", "business", "personal", etc...  Then allow us to search for all e-mails that fit some matching pattern of these tags.

Have you ever used the Keywords feature (Tools > Options > Messages and replies)? It doesn't seem to have any documentation in the help files but it allows you to apply your own 'tags' to a message and which can later be used in searches.

FYI, this is not at all a feature unique to Pegasus. In Outlook it's called 'categories' I think...

EDIT: Actually, as I remember now, the Keywords facility is only useful for messages that you send, not for tagging mail you've received. Hence it is not what you need and quite limited.
