I would start using Autofiltering immediately, if it was possible to only filter READ mail (when closing the New Mail-folder)!

Autofiltering is a great addition to 4.5x but I don't use it because I'm so used to looking at my New Mail folder. Filters are applied when I close the folder.

As Autofiltering operates when the new folder is opened it would mean looking in several folders for new mail so may I suggest that an option is added to toggle between opening / closing the new mail folder?

It should only move read mail when the new mail folder is closed.

Seems like a reasonable and sensible addition if it's possible.

EDIT: I mean adding an option for either on-open or on-close. Locking people to one or the other if a toggle can be easily implemented instead seems daft.

I'm happy for the mail to be autofiltered when I open the new mail folder.

This way, I can prioritise which new mail I read by going to my "priority" folders first.

Maybe there should be an option to set if Autofitering works on opening or closing the New Mail folder.

What I would like to see though, is System Messages include messages on where it moves any new mail which was triggered by Autofiltering, similar to how the old filtering triggered System Messages. Sometimes an Autofilter is wrong, and it can take a while to find a message I've been waiting for.
