Signature not attaching

Hi!

Has anybody found a solution for this? I have (almost) the same problem.

I'm running Pegasus Mail 4.62 on WinXP (but the same happened in previous versions).

The option 'Add this variant of the default signature...' in "Options--> Signature" works fine, but nothing happens when attaching a signature within the message editor. Both in plain text or formatted mails.

Any ideas? Is it a common problem or there is something system-specific?

Thanks, Julian

I am having a problem where my default signature is not attaching itself to outgoing emails. Any clues on how I might fix this.

Are you sure it isn't? If you attach a signature, it isn't visible to you in your message body but it is, normally speaking, attached all right. You can test it by sending yourself an email. However, you can also choose to insert the signature on message creation. Go to Tools | Options | Signatures, and tick the box at the bottom ('Add this variant ...').

Cheers!

Have you taken into account that signatures differentiate between plain text messages and html messages? That means, e.g., if you have only a signature stored for plain messages but send a html message, no signature will be attached. Simply enter signatures for both kind of messages and it will work.

Oh yeah, good one, An. I'd overlooked that possibility.

Cheers!

Thanks for your input Steffan. I have sent an email to myself. No signature appears. I have tried putting a signature in when the message is created. Unfortunately none of these things work. I have Pegasus on another computer where the signature addition works and Ii can see nothing different to the one that does not work.

On my laptop, running Windows7 Pro 64-bit, the rquotes.rsc file needed to be put in the C:\PMAIL\MAIL\[user] folder, like so:

 c:\PMAIL\Programs\RESOURCE> copy rquotes.rsc c:\PMAIL\MAIL\DanT\rquotes.pms .

Hope this helps!

I only send plain text messages and that is how the signature is set up.

Any chance you are using a distribution list to send the e-mail?  On my setup (PMail 4.52 on a Win7(32) machine), Pegasus does not attach signatures to e-mails sent to distribution lists -- even if you select a signature.  You can use the glossary tool for that.

No. I am not using distribution lists. Just  plain text emails to individuals.
