Printing of HTML formatted mails?

Can you please forward me a copy of the message that crashes on you in Fancy mode? Please send it to irelam@telus.net   The version of Bearhtml 4.6.3 should be able to handle all messages except for occasional home made s p a m.

Thank you

Good Day,

Is it possible to print out html e-mails without losing the html format? When printing such e-mails only the plain text is getting printed.

Brgds

Shift+Ctrl+P should bring up an HTML print option window which usually produces better output than the normal Ctrl+P one.

(If it is a message with alternate formats, don't forget to press 'V' to see the HTML instead of the text version.)

Good Morning Paul,

It works. Thanks for the hint.

Hmmmm....

I just tried that, now looking at...

"Access violation at address 0353926B in module 'BEARHTML.DLL'. Read of address 00000004."

This is running on Win2k, as up to date as it was, With Peg 4.52

Have to say, I've had long term trouble with BEARHTML.DLL over the years, it just appears to be fragile to say the least.

Regards.

Dave B.

Which version of Bearhtml are you running - 4.6.3 or the more recent 4.6.9?  Try the upgrade from the downloads area here if you are on the older one.

Which version of Bearhtml are you using?  This is the first report I have ever received of problems when attempting to print.

OK...

I've since rebooted my PC for other reasons (regular maintenance etc) and it doesnt croak printing HTML mails now.

But, I do still get some incoming HTML mail, that will crash the BEARHTML.dll and take down Peg' too (just exits after clearing a nest of 2 or 3 error dialogs, leaving the mailbox locked.)   Once I've restarted Peg', and let it rediscover the mailbox and sort things out, the same mail that caused the crash will render OK with no issues.

It may even be dependant on other apps running, or have been run I think, but I've never even begun to recognise a pattern of events.

According to the file properties dialog (right click on the bearhtml.dll file) it's version 4.6.3.0 if that helps any.

It was replaced once before when I first reported the problem.  It helped some, but not 100%.  I'll go see if I can find the 4.6.9.x version, and plant that in there.

Regards.

OK....   Not good.

Closed down Peg, moved all "Bear*.*" files out to a temporary folder.

Downloaded the  4.6.9 update, unzipped that into the main Pmail folder (where the old files were) also the contents of the matching BearSupport.zip (as I think that is what I did before).

Start Peg, find one of the HTML mails and open it.  In Plain Text mode OK, but as soon as I change view to "fancy", crash, and Peg dies too.

It's not even a mail full of pictures, just text with different fonts.

Anyway, for now, I've re-instated 4.6.3.0 BearHTML files, and it's working again.

I'm using Peg V 4.52, on Windows 2000 Pro.   The PC has 1.5G of Ram, and a 1.8G P4 CPU, also 80G of drive, it's permanently net connected via the trusty DG834GV2 router, and just sits there 24/7 most weeks, ticking along nicely.

Interestingly, the "maintenance" today, was a run of Spinrite on the hard drive, no reason, just I'd not done it for over a year.  No issues found.  Memtest86 has been run recently and likewise, no RAM issues found.

I can live with these minor wrinkles (I have done for many years!) and will not stop using Peg just because of this (I've been a Peg user, since the Windows 3x days) but if anyone wants to help find out what and why, and fix it, your welcome to ask me to test things.  However, due to work and other commitments, a responce may not be immediate.

Cheers.

Dave B.

PS: I have problems with Gmail and SSL these days too.  It used to work flawlessly, but I think another app, has stomped all over the OpenSSL libraries.  For now one issue at a time eh...
