Upgrading to v4.61---procedure

Can you point me to the "-ROAM" option thing ? I mean, a message or thread or FAQ entry or whatever that will explain to me what things I need to know about this.

Thank you

From earlier this month:

This is from an email, so I had to paste it in.

I think I'm about ready to upgrade Pegasus from v4.41 to v4.61.  I have several questions before I make a final decision.

I'll be running Pegasus on Windows 2000Pro.  I will probably put it over onto my other OS, XP/MCE, at some later date. My v4.41 is absolutely typical, I believe.  The program is in C:\program files\Pegasus mail, and the mail is in C:\PMail\Mail\username.

I've downloaded the new upgrade, w32-461.exe.  As I understand things, being a typical installation, I simply hit the w32-461.exe, and Pegasus will install itself with little to no further input from me.  It will install as an upgrade, over the top of v4.41, so that I do not lose any of my email and/or settings.  Is that correct?

If I receive positive feedback that my process is correct, I'll probably go ahead later this coming week, or next weekend.  A final thought/question.  Is v4.61 too new, too young, with possible unresolved bugs, to consider at this point?  I'll be expecting it to work well, for everyday use, "out of the box."

Thanks for any thoughts on this.

Do not attempt to install to any program files location. Install to c:\pmail or another drive letter and ..\pmail only. The installer will place program files into ..\pmail\programs and subdirs under that. Messages are still in ..pmail\mail\<username> and no folers or messages get stored in \mail\ except the subdirs and the pmail .cfg file - There is no more single  user setup. Default username is admin located at ..\pmail\mail\admin plus however many more users. Home and new mail for admin would be ..\pmail\mail\admin with default install. Home and new can be local or another "server" machine or install can be to server and all just have icon and command line pointed to run winpm-32 from the server location.

4.41 had a change user function but 4.51 and later do not. Now it is done differently and read the Help, Commandline options and use of the -ms switch. Also note the -roam switch as any road warriors will want that information. Anyone using a USB stick or drive install will also need -roam to take the drive letter out of the memory stick install.

win2000 is the oldest OS 4.52 and later can run on.
