I found it! Somehow, the signature variant was changed to formatted, instead of plain content. I switched it back, and all is well.

I have just updated to 4.6.1. It looks great! However, even though I have default signature set to Signature 1, when I write a new mail, it always shows no signature. Is this a bug, or am I missing something? Any help is appreciated.
