<p>So I literally just watched someone try to brute force login to the pop3 portion of my server. </p><p> </p><p>That was really entertaining to me for a few reasons:</p><p>a. I haven't had my server up for 2 days.</p><p>b. I don't have pop3 at all properly setup.</p><p>c. I only have 2 addresses with secure passwords. (12 character password with numbers, letters, and symbols)</p><p>d. I had just barely contemplated getting better security for the server.</p><p> </p><p>Question:</p><p>Is there a way to set up a rule that says if ip address makes 5 incorrect logins to ban the ip address? </p><p> </p><p>Thanks in advance. </p>
