So I literally just watched someone try to brute force login to the pop3 portion of my server.
That was really entertaining to me for a few reasons:
a. I haven't had my server up for 2 days.
b. I don't have pop3 at all properly setup.
c. I only have 2 addresses with secure passwords. (12 character password with numbers, letters, and symbols)
d. I had just barely contemplated getting better security for the server.
Question:
Is there a way to set up a rule that says if ip address makes 5 incorrect logins to ban the ip address?
Thanks in advance.
