Pegasus Mail does not complete launch

This was not a new install.  About a week ago I installed 4.61 over the old version.  The software is located at c:\comm\pmail.  It has been working fine until this problem.  It is used as a standalone and a single user. The upgrade was completed successfully with no problems.  It did offer to view the What's New.  I can see the c:\comm\pmail folder but there is no c:\comm\pmail\programs folder.   There is a c:\comm\pmail\png folder.  The problem started just after I changed the display to cascaded view and then closed Pmail.

When I attempt to open Pegasus Mail the main screen opens with no button bar and a blank pane.  The following error message is displayed:

Pegasus Mail for Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.

When I select "Details" the following information is displayed:

Error Signature

appname winpm-32.exe

appver 4.6.1.0

offset 00012afb

modname kernel32.dll

I have an "Error report contents" file, but I couldn't fine a way to include it in this message.

That isn't much information to work with<G>. Where was your old version located on drive? Was it standalone or networked? Single user or multiple usernames? Did you run the 4.61 installer archive and what options did you select or deselect? Did you accept the default c:\pmail and install to that location? Did the installer complete successfully and offer to start Pegasus Mail and the offer to view the What's New?

If you go to win explorer or command prompt and look at install location do you now see c:\pmail and c:\pmail\programs and do you see a PNG subdir now? The .png files are the new toolbar buttons and such.
