Pegasus V4.6 exe file damaged?

All fixed up. It seems Avira AV was the culprit. I downloaded the file using another computer, loaded with AVG, and the file installed fine.

I've dowloaded the latest version and tried installing it, but get a Winzip damaged zip file error message immediately after clicking on the Install button stating a "bad CRC" and a file name, with possible cause "file transfer error". I re-downloaded the file, but same result.Using Windows XP Pro SP3.

Just downloaded and launched successfully, must be an issue with your download manager (browser or whatever).

So why are you the only one with this issue?

Maybe give it a try with your virus scanner disabled?

I will try with Avira disabled. It's never done this with me before - I always simply download and run the updates, no problem.

Nope, same story. No joy.

I extracted the files to a separate folder to see if I could run it from there, but there does not seem to be an executable.
Yup, no winpm32.exe in the extracted batch of files.
This sounds pretty much like some overprotective AV scanner is removing all executables from an unprotected ZIP it can open (= no password required), what's the size of your ZIP-archive? Any chance your provider is interfering?

If my AV scanner was doing it, it would do it with other software too, provided they were unprotected? I have had no such issues with other files.

Any chance you could send me your copy of the exe file in a zip format? Or upload to a file dump somewhere and post the link here?

If that works, I can narrow it down.

Just disabled the virus scanner, re-downloaded, opened the file, but the problem persists.

My mail host says it looks like someone downloaded the program just before me, and did not finish the download, and that the incomplete program is now cached on my ISPs server. This sounds like it could be the issue - the file size I download is 11.9Mb, and I note on the download page it is 12.5Mb.

Anyway, what's the size of the ZIP-file you get? I don't think it's your local AV scanner doing this, do you use a proxy with your browsers?

Hi Michael

As above, the file I get is 11.7Mb. If I can download it from an alternative source, I may get it to work.

Hi Michael

As above, the file I get is 11.7Mb. If I can download it from an alternative source, I may get it to work.

I just downloaded from the official homepage and did a fresh install - no problems at all.

The file is actually 11.7MB in size, so the size on the homepage is misleading.

I think there must be something wrong with your system.
