I need a bit of guidance and help regarding the following situation.
Recently I installed a new computer running vista and installed the v.61 version of Pegasus.
I was able to move all my folders from the prior version running under WinXP sp3.
I modified the pcconfig.exe file with the Home and New filepath for the mailboxes but now when I launch Pegasus I receive the following error messages:
The first of three error message boxes that appears reads:
HOME MAILBOX NOT FOUND
"YOUR HOME MAIL BOX DOES NOT EXIST.
WOULDYOU LIKE PEGASUS MAIL TO CREATE IT FOR YOU?
YOU SHOULD ANSWER YES IF YOU HAVE NEVER RUN PEGASUS MAIL BEFORE."
SELECT YES NO OR CANCEL.
When I select both "Yes" or "No" the program then moves to the following message.
INVALID NEW MAILBOX WINDOW
Pegasus Mail has detected that the directory which it has been told to use as your home mailbox is invalid.
If you have changed your home mailbox location using the preferences option, then you may have entered an invalid path. Otherwise, the directory has probably been deleted or moved, or if you are running in stand- alone mode, you may have entered an invalid path in your standalone configuration.
You must quit from Pegasus Mail immediately and correct this problem - running with an invalid home mailbox location can lead to serious and unpredictable errors in Pegasus Mail.
Note: If you are running under NetWare 4.0, then you must login in Bindery mode at least once (using the login command "LOGIN /B") to force NetWare to create your home mailbox location.
The only option available to select is "OK".
After selecting "OK" the following message appears:
INVALID NEW MAILBOX WINDOW
Pegasus Mail has detected that the directory in which it expects to find your new mail is invalid.
The directory may have been deleted or removed, or if you are running in standalone mode, you may have given an invalid path in your standalone configuration. Your rights to the directory may also have been altered by the system supervisor if you are using a network.
Pegasus Mail will not be able to find any new mail waiting for you and will not be able to save your preference settings, but other than that program operation should continue normally.
Note: If you are running under NetWare 4.0, then you must login in Bindery mode at least once (using the login command "LOGIN /B") to force NetWare to create your home mailbox location.
Again, the only option to select is "OK".
When I select "OK" Pegasus launches and all seems to work well from that point on until the next time I launch the program independent of a re-boot or not.
The other item that I noticed has to do with the directory that the files are located in by Vista. There are two folders that contain the PMAIL folder as well as the winpm-32.exe and pcconfig.exe files are located.
The path to these folders and files are:
c:\PMAIL
c:\PMAIL\PROGRAM FILES\PMAIL
