IMAP dropping connections.

The detailed logged revealed it was an SSL error which I fixed. Thank you for your help.

I've never had to deal with setting up an email sever so this is a first for me.

I'm running Windows Server 2008 with the latest version of Mercury32. All the necessary ports are open, 143 inbound and outbound, 993 in and out, 25 in and out. The server sends and receives mail just fine from local users and non local just fine. I can even use local IMAP and have it connect (Squirrelmail) properly; the problem is when I try to use an external IMAP client like Thunderbird. Here's what the server is giving me.

Connection from [my nonlocal IP], Sat Apr 16 23:44:08 2011

[Not-logged-in] at [my nonlocal IP] 0 sec. elapsed, connection closed Sat Apr 16

I know the problem is the Not-logged-in since when I use webmail it shows as admin at 127.0.0.1. Do I have a configuration wrong on IMAP or is it my local email client?

Thanks.

To get more details about why the connection is terminated you can temporarily switch on session logging in MercuryI. Additionally, make sure there is no antivirus software or similar that intercepts incoming IMAP connections, on the server or in your router/firewall.
