Problem with graphics in signature

[quote user="pmelle"]The issue will be fixed in the next version of Pegasus Mail with new modules of TER/HTS. If stripping out the image via Mercury be aware of the fact that you'll be stripping out both instances of the image, because not the image is inserted twice but it is referenced twice in the reply.

What I'm doing is just stripping out the HTML reference to the image ("<img src=.....>") that is incorrectly inserted after "On xxxxx yyyyy wrote:". It works like a charm right now, and I don't have to wait for the next version of Pegasus Mail which, based on past experience, I would not expect any time this year (4.51 released 7/2/2009, 4.52 released 2/13/2010, 4.61 released 2/24/2011).

I created a default signature that consists only of a small GIF file. I then configured Pegasus (v. 4.61) for top posting ("For replies, place the cursor on an initial blank line",  "If also inserting a signature, insert it just below the blank line").

When creating and sending new mail, this works OK.  However, when replying to an email using HTML mail, the recipient sees TWO instances of the GIF, one where the signature should be, and a second one at the end of the line that says "On 27 Jun 1947 at 6:38, John Smith wrote:".  Note that while composing the reply the screen looks fine, the problem is only seen by the recipient of the reply.

I tried creating a table in the signature and putting the GIF inside the table, but that did not help.

P.S. I know - I'm adding 5K to each email just for a vanity signature, but the wife "absolutely needs" it.

Known issue, may be fixed in the next Pegasus Mail version due to new TER/HTS versions.

Thanks, that was a quick response.

Is there anything written up on the symptoms of the bug? Because if all there is to it is what I described above, then I can easily write a Mercury policy that will strip the unwanted image from the email as it is being sent out, and I can start using the images in the signature tomorrow.
