Maximised windows with no close button
And incidently, the ESC key will usually close the window with missing controls.
The ESC key is a little unreliable if the focus isn't inside the respective window while Ctrl + F4 always works on the active (last used) MDI window.

I am using Pegasus V4.61 on Windows7. I think this is an issue on XP and Vista as well, but not sure.

If I have the "Read New Mail" window maximised inside the main Pegasus window then "Open saved message", "Review queued mail" or start a new message, the appropriate window (Draft Manager, Queue Manager or the new message window) opens maximised. But the minimise, mid-size and close buttons do not appear in the top right corner. It is then difficult to work out how to close the window and go back to reading mail.

I work around it by doing File -> Read New Mail again. This makes the buttons appear. Then I close or minimise the "Read New Mail" window. The underlying window now appears with the close button visible. I can close all the windows I don't want. At the end I "Read New Mail" again. I can also use Window->Tile to get to see all the windows and then close the ones I am finished with.

I presume there is some issue with the minimise, mid-size and close buttons actually displaying on the UI in these cases?

I've encountered this same problem for several years with a number of Pegasus versions. I've been able to deal with it by switching to any other open window (using 'Window' menu) and then back. The missing buttons are then where they belong. It's now possible to do this 'window switching' using the window bar near the bottom of the screen. If you don't see the window bar, click on the triangle symbol in the lower right corner of the screen.

 Hope this will help,

Jim

Aside from this you may close most internal windows by pressing Ctrl + F4 and walk windows using Ctrl + TAB (backwards with an additional Shift key).

Thanks for the ideas on how to work around this. It is good to know that it is not just me that sees this happen. It would be good if David is able to find the reason that the buttons do not expose on the UI automatically and correct it some day.

David thinks it may be a fault in the Windows MDI manager - here's a link to a thread from 2007 where David responded to the question: http://community.pmail.com/forums/1/1681/ShowThread.aspx

And incidently, the ESC key will usually close the window with missing controls.
