I have had to format my HD and am now attempting to install Pegasus. However, although I did it seamlessly last time, I am now having a problem with details. Is my Internet email address the same as my electronic email address? If not, what is the difference? Maybe I'm getting to old for this. :)

Thanks in advance.

Eric.

Didn't you actually read electronic mail address (note the missing "e" in mail) and wouldn't this then be the same as Internet email?

Thanks, Michael. If they both indicate the same thing, why have two descriptions been used?  A bit confusing. I don't know whether the configuration process has been altered, but I had no real problems with the old version. It doesn't appear to be as straightforward, now.

Anyway, I'll give it another go.

Michel. I am afraid that I will have to give up on this. I have changed none of my personal details, and yet Pegasus will not accept my username and password. I have tried all combinations to no avail. This is so frustrating. I shall have to look for another client.

Regards and thanks again.

What does that exactly mean? Do you get an error message? Which one? Do you need to use any security settings or special authentication options?

It might help if you can post here the email settings given to you by your provider.

Michael, May I crave your help!  I too am having configuration problems.  I have just installed Pegasus Mail 4.61 while maintaining my Gmail account as my sole address.  Although I am sending mail out though Pegasus OK, I have been unable to access my incoming mail from GMail, using Pop.  I have followed the setup wizard as best I know how, and I have configured the GMail end.  When I call up my Gmail-generated mail through Pegasus, I get the error message "Peer connection failure (The host has refused the connection)".  My platform is Windows 7.  I have identified my server host name as pop.gmail.com, and I was using port 110 which Pegasus cites as the default.  I have noted that GMail suggests for non-preferred clients such as Pegasus, trying port 995.  I have just tried that and still nothing comes through, not even an error message this time!.  Have you any thoughts?  Cheers, Michael Jones (NZ)

I think you will find that Gmail requires direct SSL for incoming mail.

I presume you have enabled POP in the Gmail web interface.

In Pmail you will need to configure Tools - Internet Options - Receiving (POP3) for Direct SSL.(Security tab)

995 is the correct port for POP3 over SSL.

Your username is your full email address.

Since your most important question has already been answered (most probably sufficiently) let me just add one here: If IE 9 is already installed on your machine you'll need to update IERenderer ASAP since you'll otherwise encouter crashes when trying to open HTLM (formatted) messages.
