Brian, I already answered your question(s) up this thread ...

I am getting ready to roll out version 4.61 to my users and was looking for some sort of introduction and tutorial on IERenderer that would be appropriate to distribute to users. The IERenderer help file is a bit too clinical for many of my users and I find nothing about IERenderer in the manual distributed with v4.61. The paragraph about HTML rendering improvements in What's New is a start but doesn't go far enough. Does anyone know of a resource that would contain content that would fit this need?

There's nothing like this, but how many users do you know who would actually read this anyway? Aside from this IERenderer is just an enhancement of the BearHtml renderer which has been around for a couply of years without anyone asking for a tutorial, let alone a helpful user interface (like IERenderer's button menu). IOW: It shouldn't be required to understand IERenderer's details for using it, they are only provided for the more sophisticated users.
But you may also want to wait for the upcoming release of Pegasus Mail 4.62 which will provide the latest versions of TER/HTS, BearHtml and IERenderer so you wouldn't have to patch each one of these separately afterwards (remember the IE 9 issues with the IERenderer provided with 4.61, e.g.).

You did a great job with the printing options in IERenderer. Reminding users of the Ctrl+Shift+P requirement of Bear is getting old. I want to present a list of the IERenderer options as part of my 4.61 upgrade announcement, primarily to call them to the attention of the users. I can type something up but was hoping for a copy/paste solution.

I have 4.61 installed and running beside 4.52. Three users have been running 4.61 for a couple of weeks now as test users. I have 9 more users to switch over. Waiting for 4.62 may be a good suggestion depending on how far out the release is. Do you have a sense whether it will be weeks or months?

Sorry, but if you do so I think it would be a great addition to the Pegasus Mail Wiki [;)].

It should be pretty soon, i.e. at most weeks ...

Just was notified today about David Harris' latest blog post regarding future updates ...

I saw that blog post but failed to register the "It should be out within a couple of weeks of this posting." sentence. What DID register was: Pegasus Mail continues to be developed, he's having fun with the development of the new contact manager, he doesn't have fun with the maintenance tedium, money remains a problem.
Sure wish he could find an answer to the money problem. It might help to make the maintenance tedium less "humdrum" and "soul-destroying" as he put it.
What IE9 issue?
Maybe the one mentioned at http://www.pmail.com/newsflash.htm
where the version of ierenderer supplied with 4.61 will crash. The latest version downloaded from Community contains fix for that and other improvements also. Not all machines have IE9 installed yet but if they do and install 4.61 they will have problem until the ierenderer is updated.
Some user already had IERenderer turned off and were using BearHtml before the IE9 was added to their machines so would not have seen the problem until switching IERenderer back on via the toolbar icon.
I think Brian's proposed tutorial may be aimed at informing users about IERenderer and printing from it of HTML messages and how to do that or other functions available via the icon on toolbar which is new, top far right, to 4.61 version. Users who do not view Community or pm-win list or who have never read Help for the renderer are actually fairly commonplace both in the workplace as well as at home.
Exactly. Most of my user have been using Pegasus Mail for many years but I can guarantee you that only the two IT guy have ever looked at the manual or not many have ever referenced the help files. IERenderer is significant enough of an addition that a user friendly help file or tutorial would be a valuable tool to introduce it and explain its use and options.
I get the impression that a current download of v4.61 doesn't contain the current version of IERenderer (maybe not BearHTML either). If so, anyone know if there a plan to remedy that or if they will be updated in v4.62?
