Moving Pmail folders to new computer

I'm trying this, but when I try to bring up the moved MAIL folder, it asks me for Username. I went back and opened the current mail folder that I had been using, and it said my Username was Admin,0.

I tried again, using that, but it won't accept it and locks me out of the moved folder.

I need to access the moved stuff ASAP, as I have a client waiting on something I need to do.

....

I think I got it. I found an old thread referencing pconfig, and ran that, and it appears to have worked. Looks like the move is complete! YAY! :-)

I finally got ALL my old and new emails combined, with all the saved folders and archives and even saved copies of over 45,000 emails sent since 2012.

THANK YOU guys!!!

Prior to (ver. 4.6)  I moved Pmail file from one computer to the next and all of my folders and address book showed up. This time I did not have the same results.  Any help would be appreciated.

There are lots of threads about migration on this forum, but without details about the exact file locations (especially on the source machine), the Windows versions (especially on the target machine) and the mode Pegasus Mail (4.61 I assume?) is used in (single user / multi-user / network, separate mailbox drive) there's no way to easily solve your issue(s). It may also help to see the data from the Help => About Pegasus Mail => Info screen (highlight and copy using Ctrl + C => Ctrl + V to paste).

 Hi people,

My 8 year old PC, which was upgraded to

Windows 10 last July, is slowly dying, so I'm moving everything to a

newer one with Win 8.1.

I'm 68 and have a part time home business

on the old one, to make ends meet, with tons of crucial client emails,

so I need to transfer them over by 8gb SD USB card and get them to merge

somehow, with the 20 or so new ones that I have now, on the newer PC.

Could you please tell me how to accomplish this ASAP?

Thanks!

OK, 10 yr old PC: Was Win 7, upgraded to Windows 10 in July. It didn't set well. NIGHTMARE: Hundred hours of problems? ( video driver stuff - kept rebooting and locking up with blank screens - Windows 10 keeps updating to driver that does this. No solution! Windows 10 HOME allows no adjustments. ) So I got this newer PC with Windows 8.1.

I'm 68 and my part time home business, which I use to keep from eating dog food on SS, is on the old machine - 10 years of it, including tens of thousands of emails. ( been using Pegasus since 1992, for this business for 10 years ).

Old machine: C:\PMAIL\MAIL

New machine: C:\PMAIL\MAIL

Latest Pegasus 4.72 on both machines. Single user on both - only me.

Can anyone help please?

Replacing C:\PMAIL\MAIL on the new machine with a copy from the old machine should do the trick.  Here is how I would proceed:

On the new machine:  Make certain Pegasus Mail is closed the rename C:\PMAIL\MAIL to C:\PMAIL\MAIL_saved.

On the old machine:  Make certain Pegasus Mail is closed then copy the C:\PMAIL\MAIL directory to a flash drive or some other device that will allow you to transfer it to the new machine.

On the new machine:  Paste the copied C:\PMAIL\MAIL from the old machine to C:\PMAIL\MAIL on this machine.

Test Pegasus Mail.  If all is well, delete the previously renamed C:\PMAIL\MAIL_saved directory.

I would also recommend running Pegasus Mail's installer once to update its system settings, but only after launching Pegasus Mail at least once so it creates its proper Registry entries for the installer to do an update on top of it no matter whether it's the same or a later version.

NO. I haven't gotten notification emails, and can only find my original post by searching on my profile, then it only shows me that one post. I looked for a notifications setting and didn't see one.

First of all you can configure email notifications in your forum settings (on the Email Tab). Secondly you may enable or disable notifications for any thread on top of the respective thread, see below.
