Hi,

today I've updated my Windows 7 64 bit Enterprise laptop to the PGP 10.2.0 version. I had the last available idw PGP installed (and working before the update) on my Pegasus Mail 4.61.

After the PGP update Pegasus Mail seems to start regularly even if it frezees (the Pegasus Mail splash screen doesn't disappear).

To solve the problem I uninstalled idw (even if I had to complety the unistalaltion manually removing all PMPGP files from my mbox) and now pegasus is OK.

Does someone knows if, and when, there will be a new idw PGP version compatible with the last Symantec PGP release?

Thanks in advance for any ingo. Regards

   Domenico

Never unless there's a free version, is there?

Hi,

so if Symantec would not provide a free version Pegasus Mail will lose support for signing/encrypting emails??!!!

I see on the PGP web pages that Symantec plan to provide a PGP SDK (see the "Developer" tab on page http://www.symantec.com/business/theme.jsp?themeid=pgp).

I think the best think to do is, as suggested on page http://www.symantec.com/partners/programs/technology-partners/developer-program.jsp, to ask for more information.

Thanks

Why would this be the case? You can still use PGP's "proxy" mode with any email application you want, the only inconvenience being that you need to decrypt already existing encrypted emails manually.

After checking the PGP support forum it appears that their desktop trial version still allows to be used in a (restricted) free mode which most probably provides the same functionality like in the past, but for updating the extension I need the sources or at least their SDK (documentation might even suffice). Without either of these I cannot proceed.

I finally managed to get 10.2 installed on my development machine (XP SP3, my 64-bit Windows 7 doesn't want to accept neither the 32-bit nor the 64-bit version). This allowed my to adjust the version check so the extension gets loaded again. On some first checks it appears to run without serious issues, but without PGP's source code (they only offer 10.0.1 (!) for public review) I can't tell for sure. If you want to test it please contact me via email (PMPGP's help files provide the address, e.g.). BTW: Since you managed to install 10.2 on a 64-bit system: Did you get my extension to work with a 64-bit version of PGP?
