Can Receive Mail but Cannot Send

I found the Frontier setup page for Pegasus users. So Pegasus will/should work with Frontier. I assume you have set up your SMTP as per this page.

This link came from this page.

Interestingly, others struggling with Frontier. One solved it by following the Frontier setup page. I hope you have similar luck.

Have you tried to log on to your internet provider's website to get the settings for sending emails? That would be what I would be checking first.

Cheers

I also have Outlook Express on my system and it has no problems sending or receiving emails... I just can't send email using Pegasus..  I will do a check online to see if I may have something configured wrong, but if OE works, it would seem that Pegasus should also...

Note: I don't have them running at the same time for those thinking I may be experiencing a collision...

Thanks for responding.

It could be something as simple as a typo in your sending configuration. Even something like a comma instead of a period.

Are you using a secure session at all? You will need to configure the Security tab if you are using a secure session and you haven't set that tab up yet.

Try employing the various SMTP Authentication methods on found on the Security tab of the problematic SMTP profile.

Tools > Internet options | Sending (SMTP)

I was about to make the same suggestion, but if you read the error message again I'm not sure this is what they complain about:

"your e-mail program needs to identify itself", although I'm not aware of any RFC demanding this (aside from Pegasus Mail identifying itself anyway via the X-mailer header). This doesn't sound like a sender authentication request to me ...

 Thanks for the responses,
