Hello Rolf:

the Problem is not soleved. Stll the same more the relay option corses a lot 550 errors for legal user send out and filter generated copies to secondary external email accounts.

BUT--- For the Moment it is too much trouble on other problems to work on this one.

Thats not what i want but i use TB as a workaround an Filter by "feet".

I will send a new answere when their is time to work on.

I try to install Mercury 4.73 on a new Windows Server 2008 (3 User). Only when i leave offline modus the mailclients (pegasus/ Thunderbird) are able to fetch and send mail for a few minutes.

Otherwise the clients get a timeout error trying to connect mercury.

I try to disable firewall and set rules to let everything pass. Their is no effect.

Second error: Some (only some) Mail send from one account where send to the administrator account defined by mercury.

In case to set a a lot of rules for different accounts and different senders to separate to the client accounts it is not possible to connect the clients direkt  to the host-mailservers.

The rules are already working.

Any Idea for a Mercury newbee ?

 Thx

Gregor

We will need some more information. Is there some process on the server that might intercept disk or network access (like an antivirus program)? Could you please post your mercury.ini file?

no antivirus for the moment (any problems known for avira ?)

Mercury directories should be excluded from real-time scanning if you install some AV software.

[General]

myname:          localhost    # Canonical name for this server

Not critical but please consider using a sensible name here.

[MercuryC]
Logfile : smtp-log

Again not critical but please add full path for this file.

[MercuryS]
Relay : 0
Strict_Relay : 0

If port 25 is open to the Internet you should at least switch on strict relay.

[MercuryP]

Missing paths to log files. You should probably switch off session logging unless you are tracking some specific problem.

[Domains]
strahl: strahl
strahl: strahl.de
192.168.146.155: 192.168.146.155

This needs attention. Please check Mercury help for details, it's important to get it right. Do you own the domain strahl.de? If not it should not be used here. Numerical hosts should be in the form Server: [IP address]. Brackets are mandatory.

After making changes please restart Mercury and let us know if there are any improvements!

/Rolf
