PM 4.62: Can't pick up addresses from mail header
If you highlight the entire address and right click you do get a context menu. If you just right click the underlined portion of address and do what it says and open in browser don't you get a new mail message preaddressed? If you just double click on the underlined address don't you get a new mail message preaddressed?
This even works if you simply click at any place in the yellow field. Apart from that there was no criticism in my statement, I simply stated that it works differently than before. Likewise, I did not say that there is no way to handle it in the new manner.

With a new TER used and dirrerent .dll I would expect some differences between 4.61 and 4.62.
Why this expectation? It used to work perfectly before and I do not see any reason why such functionality should be limited in newer versions.

Hello,

I'm using PM 4.62. I did the installation over the existing German version of PMail 4.61.

At the moment I'm not able to pick up mail addresses from mail header region. The right-click over an address leads to the context menue with the entries: "Open link in browser", "Copy link target to clipboard" and "Show pictures" only. This seems to happen with all kind of mails (text or html).

I hope, this is only a matter of configuration. What shall I do?

Best regards
Wolfgang

Addition: I have noticed that "copy link" works. But in the past I was able to add an address direct to an addressbook etc. this way.

Nothing at this point.  There is a problem.  Although the context menu offers to open the  link in a browser (why you would do that with an email address escapes me), clicking on the link actually opens a new mail message.

I can confirm. In former versions there used to be a special context menu for the header, now it is the same that applies to the links in the message body.

Have you, in List mode, right clicked on message in list and doesn't it still produce the familiar context menu?

Maybe it is just like getting a different vehicle of a different make and model and having to learn the controls and how to drive it while expecting there to be differences even though from the outside they may appear almost identical.

I can do it by right clicking and copy link target to clipboard, then paste where you want to put it but I did a straight upgrade from 4.61 - easy.

As long as you are happy to use the wiper switch to turn on the headlights.

Clicking on a link to open it in a browser in order to start a new mail message makes no sense to me.

David Harris has confirmed this as well although he doesn't know what exactly causes the change, yet.
