That's why I pointed you to the other thread: Vincent Fatica appears to be its creator, so ask him whether the extension announced here has already been replaced with a fixed one.

Hi,

I tried to open one download link from a html mail from cnet.com, when PM crashed. (Dump and info sent to PM support.)

Now if I:

1] double-click on a link in text mail, nothing happens.

2] ckick on a link in html mail, PMail\Programs folder is opened in Windows Explorer.

In both cases, previously click(s) used to open concerned webpage in default browser.

How can I set this right to open proper link in my default browser (Google Chrome)?

Also, when I close PMail, I get an error window:

----------------------------------------------------------------------

winpm-32.exe - Application Error

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The instruction at "0x7c9100e8" referenced memory at "0x00000010". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program

Click on CANCEL to debug the program

[OK] [CENCEL]

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Because of this error message, Pmail doesn't crash as next time when I open PMail, it opens in normal way.

Thanks & Regards,

Rad.

Update:

Though Chrome was the default browser, I just tried changing my default browser to IE and then back again to Chrome. The Links issue from within mails is sorted out now. Links are opening properly in Chrome. Something to do with default browser setup.

But the issue of error on closing PM remains. This error window appears only when I have tried to receive and/or send mail at least once after opening PM.

If I don't process mail, then this error does not appear while closing PM.

Thanks & Regards,

Rad.

This is a known issue in rare cases, but I have no idea how exactly it happens. I know of another case where links didn't work anymore after updating Opera as default browser, but doing as you did fixed it there as well.

We would be interested in a crash dump: First of all please update MiniDump and let its installer create a Start menu group, then try using the Debug Pegasus Mail shortcut from in there.

According to your email message you're using the xclose32 extension which has an issue reported here: I guess Vincent can help out here.

Thanks idw.

After removing the xclose files (.dll + .fff) PMail does not produce the error on closing.

Where do I get the update for this extension?

I searched in Downloads section but could not find it.

Thanks & Regards,

Rad.
