Community Discussions and Support
(network Configuration) is driving me crazy

To all my friends who have worked so hard to help me.

After

messing around with all info received and written down notes , I believe the problem is now solved.I have tested with a couple of other email addresses both back and forth and it IS now working.I'm glad Brian reminded me of checking the box about deleting mail after received because I was getting several duplications when I checked the host but after checking the box that solved the problem.

Please accept my sincere gratitude to every one of you for jumping in and helping me and understanding you were dealing with an idiot...LOL. I'm sure all of you were shaking your heads. This is a great example of what a help forum is all about.

The only problem now is my wife....she thinks my address is too long but it was something I had to give the guy when he was installing. All my others which were used were taken. but that shouldn't be a problem changing now as all the other important stuff has been completed

Thank you all so much again...just wish I could repay you all as you've made my life a whole lot easier

Just changed providers from Verizon to Roadrunner and I must be a real simpleton as I cannot ser up properly.

Using the wizard can somebody walk me through each step and tell me what is supposed to properly be in each of those

boxes Sure would appreciate.

For use on this lets say my email would be........dummy1@roadrunner.com

Thanks so much

You won't be able to set it up without settings info from the ISP, i.e. server names, ports and security.

All this should be available on their website.

After entering your new definitions some housework will probably be needed.

Although you say you did not have definitions  from Verizon something must have been there for it to work.

Under Tools - Internet Options you can check your definitions, making sure that the Roadrunner definitions are present under sending and receiving and removing or disabling definitions you don't need.

If you have more than one SMTP definition in place, only the top one on the list is used.

You will see the port numbers when you look at the definitions in Tools - Internet Options.

The wizard probably places standard ports (110/25) for you.

On the Roadrunner website, the above servers are named for former Adelphia clients. Other clients are advised to use pop-server.sc.rr.com and smtp-server.sc.rr.com. Perhaps you could give these a try.

Cheers!

I think those servers are location specific. In this case sc refers to South Carolina.

Under Tools - Internet Options - General turn on Internet Session Logs.

After trying to connect you will find a log file for each attempt in your mailbox in the form TCPxxxx.WPM.

Copy the files and open them with Notepad.  You can then discuss the reason for failure with the ISP.

The TCPxxxx.WPM files will be in your mailbox folder [directory(C:\PMAIL\MAIL?)] not in your Pegasus Mail mailbox.  Fire up notepad and navigate to your mailbox folder (directory).  If you don't know the location of your mailbox folder (directory) you can find if from within Pegasus Mail using the Help|About Pegasus Mail|Info button.  Look for the home mailbox location line.

Go to "Help" on the main Toolbar then to "About Pegasus Mail" then to "Info".

Here you will see the location of your mailbox. In a default installation it would be C:\PMAIL\Mail\Admin.

Close Pegasus and use Windows Explorer to navigate to that folder.  Here you will find the WPM files.

You can post excerpts here if you wish, but make sure that your username and password are removed.
