HTML /Renderer Crash - Page Not Found
I have been reading about the IE Renderer upgrade and have attempted to determine what settings this 'problematic' user account has set. In doing so, I have disabled the IE Renderer setting which I presume default to BearHTML? and the problem no longer exists.... given that we do not have a reliance on Windows Internet Explorer for browsing and most of the PCs on the network have have not upgraded to IE 7.0 (we all use Chrome), perhaps this is the root of the problem?
It's very likely IE 6 related, but here's the post making suggestions about dealing with such issues. Aside from this updating IE to the most recent supported version (IE 8 on XP) is always recommended for security reasons.
So, if I chose to apply the IERenderer .exe file - I cannot find an .exe. file of the same name in the Pegasus installation folder to overwrite...?
Sorry, but did you happen to read the highlighted parts of the IERenderer update page (the same text is included on top of History.htm as provided with the EXE in the download archive)? Part of it says The download archive ... provides an installer ..., IOW: Running the EXE on you server should apply the update for you, and if this doesn't work the announcement also makes a suggestion (and provides a URL) about using an unpacker for doing it manually.
BUG : I have managed to recreate - if you 'Change User' and attempt to invoke the IE Renderer dialog from the toolbar button nothing happens....
This is actually one of the reasons (along with more serious ones like crashes) why this feature isn't supported anymore (and was removed from the user interface) since v4.5, so don't expect to see any fixes if you continue using it.

I have a small network running Mercury and Pegasus - have done successfully for many years now. So all machines are running PM vers. 4.62

I recently had a user complaining about Copies to Self and evidently the orinating email that appear to have been HTML format. When attempting to view either the reply or the original email, -
(annotated with an envelope message icon in list view), Pegasus would display 404 Page Not Found.

I decided to reformat and install XP(home) - on the offending laptop which I have now done and after applying SP3 and all current Windows updates - Pegaus still shows exactly the same error.
I decided to open the same mail account on my own machine (running XP Pro)  - and instead of the Page Not Found error - I get :
"Cannot find file:... make sure the path or internet address is correct" followed by an IE Renderer Error (2.4.5.18 ): the operation was cancelled by the user (0x800704C7)@025F7906, Pegasus then bombs out.....

So, I then ran Pegasus on the Mail server machine (that hosts the Pegasus .exe), and opened the same mail account and the Copy to Self and original email display fine. I guess this confirms the file path error - although I am at a loss as to why this has only recently started happening. As far as I am aware (I run the network), there have been no changes to the network that affect file access/permissions etc.

Has anyone any ideas that could help me overcome this particular problem - the user (my boss) is getting a little flustered  and is advocating changing to another mail client..... which I am fiercely against doing but clearly I must be able to sort this issue out in order to keep Pegasus in place. Are there any further checks I can do to tie down the exact reason for this problem please?

 Thank you in advance.
