Further to earlier discussion on this subject, I have also experienced the following similar problem
Delivery has failed on the enclosed message for the following
reasons reported either by the mail delivery system on the mail
relay host or by the local TCP/IP transport module:
334 530 Access denied
I had to change my password for the BT email service due to hacking. Since I changed it, I have started to get the message above. When I compose a new email message, then click on SEND (the icon), I get an error message headed;-
SMTP Network or Protocol Error sending mail.
and the diagnostic;-
[*] Connection established to 217.146.188.192
>> 0038 220 smtp826.mail.ird.yahoo.com ESMTP
<< 0014 EHLO 0.0.0.0
>> 0032 250-smtp826.mail.ird.yahoo.com
>> 0032 250-AUTH LOGIN PLAIN XYMCOOKIE
>> 0016 250-PIPELINING
>> 0019 250-SIZE 41697280
>> 0014 250 8BITMIME
<< 0012 AUTH LOGIN
>> 0018 334 VXNlcm5hbWU6
<< 0034 ZGF2aWR0YzJAYnRpbnRlcm5ldC5jb20=
>> 0018 334 UGFzc3dvcmQ6
<< 0030 MmJvcm5vdDJidGhhdGlzdGhlPw==
>> 0019 530 Access denied
I clear the error message, and then the email is sent successfully, and I receive a failed message report from my ISP 9BT). The message does get sent correctly and is received. It's just that message is annoying!
Can anybody suggest a remedy? I*f my SMTP password were wrong, I would not be able to send the message successfully.
Perplexed David T-C!
