I cant get Pmail to connect to my BTConnect email account. The same settings work with Outlook. The email server requires SSL. Usung SSL the connection errors immediately saying a network error has occurred. No trace info is shown. Other security options just time out.

I don't use SSL, just normal POP through port 110.

Server: pop.btconnect.com  Username: xxx@btconnect.com  Password: password

Is it a normal BT business account?

[/quote]Thanks for your reply. It is a new Bt Business account. The settings that work with Outlook are as per the BT website and are as follows

POP3  on port 995 server pop.outlook.com using SSL.

SMTP on port 587  server smtp.outlook.com using SSL

Immediate error message when trying to connect on both POP3 and SMTP

OK, this is a new configuration for BTconnect that only affects some accounts (I am still on the old setup).  From postings on other lists/forums, there are quite a few people having trouble with the new servers.

What is the error message?  Have you got a session log (Tools / Internet options / Create Internet session log) ?

NB:  If you post a session log here, make sure you obscure any username an password!

I have set the parameters for a session log but no syslog file is being created.

The error message is "A network error occurred during connection to the host"

The tracewindow shows << No trace information available >>.

With any other security setting other than "Direct SSL"  the status bar shows connecting then times out with no error message.

Further update. After some googling managed to get the logging to work.

Result as follows
