Pegasus 4.63 is spontaneously creating a blank email

Worked like a champ!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!  I also deleted a zero-byte IMAP.PM file by mistake first (which didn't do anything to the stray email showing), so hope that doesn't change anything serious.  But finally found the right one.

Thank you SO much for the help!!  And now I've learned something!

Without my intervention, Pegasus 4.63 is creating a blank email & putting it in the Queue Manager. I delete it but it is immdediately created again. I also notice that there is a blank email in the Draft Manager dated Dec. 3, 2001. When I delete it, it also reappears. I will appreciate any advice or ideas on how to stop this from happening. I have been using Pegasus for well over 10 years & this sort of thing has only very recently begun to happen.

This is caused by an orphaned zero byte draft and new message files.  Pegasus is unable to delete such files so it must be done manually.  Close Pegasus then use Windows Explorer to look in the home mailbox directory for zero byte files with the extension .pmo, .pmw or .pmx.  Delete them.

Happened again!

Now to figure out the cause.  Could you be shutting down the PC or experiencing a crash while Pegasus Mail has an open new message window?

I think this latest incident happened when I tried to log off of Win 7. There was an unsent message in Pegasus. I tried to stop the log-off, biut it didn't go smoothly.

I am having the exact same problem.  I understand the general concept of needing to delete the stray bit, but don't understand the direction about "using explorer to look in home mailbox directory for zero byte files."

Sorry for my tech-stupidity, but can you please take me through the baby steps to find these .pmo (etc) files please?  Having the perpetual blank email is so annoying!

 Many thanks,

Karen

In Pegasus Mail, go to Help | About Pegasus Mail.  Click the Info button.  Look at the paths for the Home and New mailbox directory (they will probably be the same).  These paths show the location of the mailbox directory (ies).  Close Pegasus Mail then use Windows Explorer (My Computer) to navigate to the mailbox directory.  That is where you look for the zero byte files.
