Spamhalter not working! Why not?

Thanks, Jerry.

The message in question is a weekly bulletin from a commercial society advertising events in the forthcoming week.  It always includes a small attractive graphic with each of the two dozen or so announcements, but I have Pegasus set so that these do not show, so that I only see text.  I consider this as safety enough.

Have now added the sender's address to the global whitelist.

And am grateful to you for letting me know how to possibly identify why certain other emails are always returned to the Junk folder.

David.

I've been successfully using the Spamhalter filter in Pegasus for years,

but since I downloaded and installed the latest version of Pegasus (4.63, Win32)

Spamhalter can't be trained.

I have just checked Tools>Spam & Content Controls>Spamhalter,

and, sure enough, Spamhalter is checked, enabled.

However, when I find an email in my Junk Folder and I right-click

for Spamhalter Classification>Train Message as Not-Spam,

then move the message into my Main Folder,

the next time I open Pegasus that message is back in the Junk Folder!

I have just now moved the check mark from "Train on classification" to "Train Always"

in the hope that that might kick Spamhalter into behaving properly,

but to no avail.

Any thoughts?

Thank you.

Check again and raw full headers. It may actually be Content Control that is sending message to Junk folder.

Thanks, Jerry.

1. I have checked Spamhalter again and "Enable Spamhalter" is definitely checked.

2. I don't know what you mean by "raw full headers".  That doesn't seem to be listed along with things connected to Spamhalter.  Please explain.

3. Have checked "Content Control" and under "Content Control Definitions" there is just one definition called "Basic Spam Detection" and if I open it by clicking "Edit" all the settings are default settings as I've never altered anything there.

David.

Message may have matched or exceeded content control limit set (50 default) and thes went to defined folder which is where you found it. Look for any x-cc or x-ac header lines in raw view of message.

Have checked content control limit and, yes, it is set at 50.

In raw view, of the message that keeps getting return to the Junk folder, there are the following lines:

X-CC-Diagnostic: Body contains "click here" (20), Body has "/cFREE" (20),
X-CC-Diagnostic: Body contains "click here" (20), Body has "/cFREE" (20),
X-CC-Diagnostic: Body contains "click here" (20), Body has "/cFREE" (20),
X-UC-Weight: [#   ] 70
X-CC-Diagnostic: Body contains "click here" (20), Body has "/cFREE" (20),
Body has all "click here, unsubscribe" (30)

Do the above explain why this particular message won't stay out of the spam folder?

Thanks.

Yes that explains fully and why. Message contains items considered to be spam content characteristics. Ether white list that sender or possibly adjust trigger value upward a bit.  Was this really a message you would not consider spam or suspicious?

I have some I receive from a reputable association that has similar problem messages so I white list that sender by address. If it is an address you have sent email to it gets white listed differently and automatically so obviously from and address you have not sent email to.
