running two separate copies but not simultaneously

Thanks again.  I now have two icons, one for each user.

I hadn't noticed the username at the bottom before,

I think I can keep them straight now.

I have been using two computers, each having a different ID.  On one I'm john.  On the other I'm Stan.   When I wish to be John I go on computer "A."  To become "Stan I go to the other computer.  This has helped to be sure I don't send an email from the wrong person.

I find now that I need to use only one computer, a laptop.  So I'd like to run two copies but I really don't want to run them simultaneously. I'd like to run one, receive and send email, close the program, then run the other one.

Can I do this and how?

I tried to copy all files into another folder named Pegasus_Stan.  However when I try to run the exe in that folder, I get the other ID.

Create a second user via Addresses | User management and run it from a desktop shortcut. Employ the -MS switch to run concurrently.

Great !!  Thanks, that worked.

I made the new user, then moved the contents of the "Admin" folder on the other computer to the new user's folder on the second computer.  It preserved everything, saved messages, mail folders etc, as I hoped

Now whenever I click on the desktop icon it asks me which user.  That's ok but a bit inconvenient.

Can I change the target of the desktop icon so that it goes directly to the particular user, In other words make two icons, one for one user, a different one for the other user.

It would also be nice if I could change the appearance of pegasus so I can visually see which user I am seeing\.

Thanks again for your help

See Pegasus Mail Help and commandline options. You need to configure one icon properties with -I Admin and other icon properties with -I <user>. Then use Windows desktop and add after the Pegasus Mail Admin and Pegasus Mail <user> to other icon. display.

You can see the user, either Admin or <user> down on the bottom status bar of the instance you are running.

You might also wish to modify to show username instead of My mailbox at top of tree in Folder manager view. That requires careful edit of a file and while winpm-32 is closed in each user's home mail box location on drive.  See Help, About, Info button display to see drive location for home mail box for each username when you are running as that user. You change only the second instance of My mailbox in the file hierarch.pm while program is closed Then you will have second visual clue as to which username is running at present.

Always make backup copy of file before attempting any Edit.
