Windows Reinstall - POP3 not working

Glad it's working.

I'm riding my Kawasaki motorcycle today and dropped my keys which settled on top of the cylinder heads under the fuel tank .  Talk about intractable... <G>

I reinstalled windows7; pegasus is untouched and working fine ...expect that my pop3 handshake (with gmail) is no longer working.

when I look in "Tools - Internet Options..."  all the settings under "Receiving (POP3)" and "Sending (SMTP)" are still there/unchanged.

is windows somehow involved in the handshake? do I have to reinstall pegasus to my new win7 install?

 thanks!

In the Internet Options screen there is a setting to turn on internet session logging.  I suggest enabling it and then attempting to connect.  The resulting log file will show each step of the connection attempt and may provide a clue as to the problem.   It is important to read the help file about internet session logging so you understand what is being logged (e.g. passwords).

Don't forget to disable the session logging once you are done troubleshooting.

Another consideration is whether you have a firewall that is blocking the connection.

weirdness (but not newness ;-) - I turned on the log, clicked on "check POP3 host... and now it went right ahead and downloaded 50 emails...

that does remind me of dealing with the occasional intractable motorcycle engine problem ;-)

well, let's hope it's not gonna go 'intermittent' on me...
