Scare of my LIFE just now . .

Thank you for this information.  I have not been able to make any copies as yet, that will be my next project for today.  There are some e-mail there that is important to me only, my Wife passed on Mother's Day this year. Just is a little heck-tech here along with changing back to Pegasus Mail after 2.5 years on a client that just was not up to the standards that are met by PMail.  At 72 and still functioning as a user as well as a problem solver for another on computers and some other things that I have developed skills to troubleshoot and make corrections to restore functionality.  Just a tinkerer along with being a very curious animal, want to learn why not just repair or restore.  When it comes to programming that is necessary to remain in the hands of a programmer.  Not something I want to get into.

Again a very large Thank you and have a better day now and in the days to come . .

P.S. Do not find the 'Enable E-Mail Tracking' in profile.

Re-adjusting the titles of FileTrays and MailBox list when suddenly two Deleted Messages with green garbage like cans just suddenly appear.  One had a message within the other was empty.  So I clicked on the one that was empty and went to the ICON bar to delete that one.  When I clicked on the Delete Icon . . . all Filing Trays AND Mail Boxes vanished, the three windows were still there all empty.  Did not know what to do nor click on to find how to get them back.  The "My MailBox" with the 'MINUS" sign to the left was there.  So I went to the TOOLS/Options to see if my settings were still valid, they were.  Then clicked the grey box with the black "X" just below the RED box with white "X" to close Pegasus Mail.  Pegasus was still open yet the list of mail boxes were all GONE.  I thought about closing PMail and reopening, no that may clear all completely out.  So I just clicked on different items on the menu bar, that was all that was showing.  Do not even know what I clicked on and there they are again, except the Green can for the deleted messages is not there.  I then created a Deleted Mail box and that is shown like the other mail boxes, an envelope.

Anyone have an idea as to what occurred?  I think that is the order in which I did try to get them back . . I was so shocked and in a panic . . there were emaiil there that I did not want to loose.  Now what?

I think you are fine.  It sounds like what happened is the Deleted Messages folder somehow ended up being displayed twice in the folder list but it was the same folder so when you deleted it you deleted the Deleted Messages folder.  Pegasus will recreate this folder the next time you delete a message so you can delete the one that you created.

As far as why this happened, I don't know.  Obviously something happened that affected the display of the folder list.  You could probably have restored it by switching to List mode and then back to Preview mode.  Restarting Pegasus would have resolved the issue as well but I understand your panic and why you didn't.

Maintaining a backup copy of your entire mailbox folder will allow you to restore all configuration settings as well as all messages should the need arise thereby minimizing the level of panic in situations like this.
