New Mail floating window NOT closing . .

bfluet:

Excuse me for not getting back to this any sooner.  Have been working on getting my system back in normal operation.  Had lost the function of the laptop keyboard plus a wireless Microsoft Keyboard and mouse.  Took several days because the only way to enter any verbiage to request assistance or any other operation on the laptop.  One character at a time by clickiing the mouse, marble mouse wired, not an option you would like to be tied to especially on a forum.  That has been cleared, no thanks to Microsoft's Tech Support by telly nor even the web.  Both advised me to purchase a newer keyboard.  Did not do that, I fixed it myself.

That 'tattle-tale' window just was taking a little more time than I thought it should, I guess.  There have been some occasions where it just would not go away so clicked on it to close.  Plus friends and family have had other problems with their computers that required some attention.  I am a troubleshooter', 'analyst', repairer of all sorts of problems plus an experimenter thrown in as an after thought.

Thank you for shedding some lite on that subject

If you are talking about the "New mail folder" window it won't close automatically.  It is a folder window that is user controlled.  You have some control over whether it is open when you start Pegasus by using the "Save the Pegasus Mail desktop state between sessions" setting in Tools | Options | General settings | Basic settings.

If you are talking about the floating telltale window (notification of new message)  it should close immediately after reading the new message or few seconds after deleting or moving the new message to a different folder.  If this isn't happening, let us know what you are doing with the message that triggered the telltale notification window.

The telltale window is the one, since posting that message it has started to close for me and do not know what is different.  I will watch it more closely and if it will not go away in a short time I will report again.

Thank you for this response,
