just to confirm: I had a very similar problem. It was not possible to send mail from different identities. 

The combination of new port, changing the security connection and using my user NUMBER rather than the name worked the miracle. I can send mail from two identities now. Yeah!

My system has been giving me fits lately.  My router died, and my cable modem became painfully slow for some reason.  I have a new modem now, thanks to Comcast, and am in the market for a new router.  Needless to say, both I and the Comcast techs have been stirring the system in our attempts to fix things.  Right now the incoming signal is coming through the cable box, to the modem, to the desktop tower, all hardwired.  I need a router, though, for the rest of the house.

Somewhere in all this mess Pegasus went wonky.  I'm able to receive email with no problem.  However, I cannot send email through Pegasus.  I get an error message:

If anyone can help me, pretty much step by step, overcome this problem, I'd be very grateful.

I'm still using Pegasus v4.41, and I'm using the most current version of Avast.  Comcast is my ISP.

Try using:

SMTP server: smtp.comcast.net
Port: 465
Security: via direct SSL
Authenticate with your Comcast UserName and Password

That worked very well, thank you.  I also had to change a setting in Avast, telling it not to scan my outgoing mail.  But the important thing--I can send mail again.

I'm going to continue in this thread rather than start a new one because I think the problem may be the same or related or perhaps just very similar.

I am suddenly unable to download mail.  Pegasus is acting very much like it did when it would not send mail.  Here is the error message:

Timeout for download is set at 90.

There are previous threads on this subject that you can search.

The fact that it is timing out on the password suggests this might be incorrect.
