Is PMail the only software you have that is giving bothersome or unexpected output? [Snip, snip, snip] . . . run whatever disk checking utilities you have to map bad sectors and defrag and if problems persist export your email files if you want to keep them and then uninstall and reinstall the program. For uninstalls I find Revo Uninistaller even the free version much better than the windows protocol. Good luck to you.
"erchess,"
To start with, after posting the first message about Ctrl+N not working, I had been trying to use it all morning, after posting it started to work and has even today.
I edited down your reply that I have quoted above. It is only in PMail and it has been reinstalled several times before I noticed the Radio Buttons for HELP not working, have not had a chance to find where they are located, but; will get to that ASAP! My utilities disk for checking for bad sectors is GRC's SpinRite v6.0 and it is used about once a month without any baddes being found, will run it again when the time allows. When it comes to defrag I use Kessel's "MyDefrag" and it is the best I have found and used it for several years. The uninstall and reinstall seems rather drastic, will consider after other checks are done, maybe.
VS Group's Revo FREE is VERY good have used it for several years. Some of these problems may have been from my not watching what I was doing. Will recheck with better observations as well as keeping my head on straight. Chasing several other problems for friends during this same time period may have gotten my wires crossed.
Now need to slow down and retest
Thank you for your reply and suggestions, plus honesty is the best policy and will keep your suggestions in mind
