AW: Mail filters missing . . .

Hmm ... as far as I know there is no way for Pegasus to find and use a standard rulefile outside your folder with the mailbox. What you found seems to be a Folder with a backup. Have a look into that rulefile (simply with editor / notepad). Are there the rules you added?

I checked, waht mailfiles may be there. Maybe I missunderstand, where you created rules:

WINRULES.PMC:  Filter for new mails on opening inbox
WINRULEA.PMC:  Filter for new mails on closing inbox
WINCSELF.PMC:  Filter for copies to self
RULExxxx.PMC:  Common filterset (don't know how this is called in englisch Pegasus)
RULExxxx.PNP:   Filterset for mails during POP3-download

Maybe you created rules of last type and you have been searching for the wrong extension?

Several days ago I created filters to move some of the incoming mail to appropriate boxes.  Every time I check the mail it takes a large amount of time to filter the mail, that is not the problem.  Now I want to recheck the filters and make some adjustments.  There are not any filters shown when going into the filters, ZERO.  Where are they now and how come if there are not any filters shown is the mail being filtered?

If filtering rules exist they should show up in winrules.pmc in your mailbox.

The on open and on close new mail filter rules are winrule*.pmc files and are readable in Notepad in the user's home mail box location. Do you have or use more than one user configuration?

Autofiltering rule or any POP3 rules are different extension files.

caisson & Jerry Wise,

Thank you so much for these quick replies, but; there is not any 'winrule*.pmc' within any of the folders for my mail, I presently have three (3) addies that are being kept open and all are being placed within the same PMail program.  I have two (2) of my own and the third is my Wife's.  She is no longer with me and I keep monitoring her's so I do not loose touch with her friends, she passed on 13 May, 2012.  I probably should close it but that was her account and do not any other to use that addy.

I have searched all folders without finding any file with that title.  Now may I ask if in Win7 is there a possibility this could be in my User folder off the root directory?  Instead of being in the Pmail\Admin folder?  My PMail folder is installed on a MicroMini card and I hope Windows has kept it all there as that is how I set it up.

Did not setup any POP3 filters, only on the incoming . .

Rules are stored in "Home mailbox location" See: Help > About | Info
Rule files are .PMC
General rules either you provide name or Pmail will name like RULE*.PMC

In Pmail look at
Tools > Mail filtering... > ...general rule set...

Thank you for this information, but; there is not a file as mentioned within any of these posts in any mail folder.  The "*.PMC" do not appear within any of the mail folders on my system, I have looked into all of them and they are free of that type of file extension.  Have checked all of the Tools > Mail filtering rules > . . general rule create/edit . . plus the other three (3) even for POP3 and they are all blank.

One last point, this is about your site, when double clicking on the link in the email alert of Guy's post sends me to the following link, with the usual xxxx:// added to the front:

 community.pmail.com/Msgs/default.aspx?MessageID=6

The displayed message for the above link, without the quotes:

"Not Found: Forum Not Found

The forum you requested does not exist."

Strange, I am within that forum and posting to that thread yet your system tells me the above information.

The actual link from within the email is, with the usual xxx:// added at the front and without the quotes, "community.pmail.com/forums/thread/36558.aspx

Noticed the post is actually 36557 when hovering my mouse over "Reply", "Quote", "Mark as answer", "Report abuse", "Quick reply".

Excuse me, also neglected to mention, "my mail is still being filtered when I open the 'Inbox' " now what should I do?  Uninstall again and re-install?

Again, my error in reading my mail from your system.  There were two (2) messages about Guy's post, one with the 36557 and the other with 36558, where Guy evidently edited his message and the system had already sent the first message and I missed the double replies on the same post.  If you would like I can post both messages by copy/paste if you request.

There must be at least one file, if you created an incoming filter on opening local inbox: winrules.pmc

Are the rules still active (is filtering done)? If yes, that file must be somewhere!

If no: if it is not in your 'home mailbox location' that is shown in Help -> About -> Info (I asume, you have a mobile installation on some sort of memory card), it must be on one of the PCs, where you used that mobile installation.

FJR,

So far as I have been able to identify there is not a "Winrules.pmc" file any where in my "I:\PMail\Mail" Admin nor any other "user" folder for mail.

YES, to your assumption of, "you have a mobile installation on some sort of memory card" except it has not been used on any other PC, this one only.

I have discovered "Winrules.pmc" located on "F:\DifferentFolder\PegasusSafeFolder\Mail" and my Pegasus installation is on "I:\PMail".

Had not done a complete search of my Computer for that "Winrules.pmc" file, only on my "I:\" (MicroMiniCard) where Pegasus is residing.  If that "Winrules.pmc" file is in a different partition on the HD will

PMail still see it as well as use it?  I thought it only used from it's

own root folder.
