Outgoing mail - Messages formatting V.4.63

Hi all ,

The problem has been fixed when i did an update to the last release of Bearhtml (4.6.9.0) and IERenderer (2.4.7.4.)

I wish to thank all of you for your help and patience... I don't know how could i fix  that problem without your help.

Happy  to be one of Pmail community.

Hi,

i just updated my pegasus mail from version 4.61 to 4.63 and now when i am trying to answer to an email the formatting in the reply is displayed in one block.

there is no more the formatting of the original email.

I already checked the Pegasus mail options and everything was fine till the new update. 

Someone has any idea?

Check through the reply options dialogue box.  For HTML check that original formatting is preserved.

Thanks for your reply.

I already checked that option and it is remaining the same.

Everything was Ok till the new release.

We are using Pmail for more than 15 years now and we are very happy with this software.

 In outgoing mail <message formatting >tabs and margins , i have :

message width :145

<tab > width : 15 units:MM and right margin :74 (characters)

May be it can help

What about the wrap/reformat options in the reply dialog? You may need to turn them off.

Do you allow message formatting of outgoing messages, i.e. do you have the below options disabled (especially the first one), otherwise formatted content will always get converted to plain text no matter what which might result in what you see (Tools => Options = Message formatting)?

Does this happen with all HTML formatted message or just this particular one?

ask because I occasionally have problems where either there is no HTML

formatting in the reply or the HTML formatting in the reply doesn't

match the original.  These occurrences are message specific.  I

particularly notice the problem of the reply not matching the original

when the original is formatted like a table.  I like my message width

set at 5.71 inches but have found that increasing it will prevent loss

of content at the left margin of an HTML table included in a reply.  The

formatting in the reply is still not the same as the original but all of the

content is there.

yes my settings are the same like yours.what is incredible is that it was ok till the last update .

i then just wonder if something changed on that last release regarding emails formatting.

it happens on all html emails.

On the original email i have a nice formatting and when i reply i only have all lines in one ugly block.

Actually a lot changed, but I don't see what you see provided I have wrapping and reformatting in the reply dialog disabled. In fact we've seen what you do in the early stages of 4.63, but it should be fixed with the final public release. There must be something wrong with either your installation or settings which we didn't figure out yet.

In fact we&#039;ve seen what you do in the early stages of 4.63, but it should be fixed with the final public release. we did an update of the previous release 4.61.Are we able to downgrade from 4.63 to 4.61?

The settings remained the same as nothing has been changed between version 4.61 to 4.63.

Sorry, I'm coming into this thread a bit late. Anyway, I didn't understand what you meant by "displayed in one block". Sometimes HTML messages are built using tables as paragraph formatting. If you can see thin lines around text that are selectable and moveable this may be your case.

Secondly, you mentioned an update. Did you hit the Update button in Pegasus Mail installer (which would preserve your previous settings) or you did a fresh install? If the latter you may need to reconfigure all your previous settings manually.

sorry for my english. i mean by "the formatting in the reply is displayed in one block" : in the email body of my reply i have the full history of my previous emails displayed in one part with no formatting anymore .

in fact you're right  i can see those thin lines around text.

I will look further when I have time to see if I can come up with something more definitive.

My guess is that we are dealing with lazy HTML messages. When trying to reply to a message containing several remote pictures none of them appear within the reply, probably due to a TER inability to handle/parse them. Here I'm using BearHTML to render HTML messages but it affects nothing when replying. It's a TER/HTS territory over there.

TER/HTS seems to have something to do with it, as HTML appears as plain text in Attachment View.

Could you please tell me how can i switch between "BearHTML" and  "TER/HTS" configuration as i wish to test BearHTML .

You can't avoid using TER/HTS for preparing and composing replies, you can only switch between IERenderer and BearHtml for displaying HTML messages.
