Missing and old-named IMAP folders

SOLVED!

I had to untick (in Thunderbird) Tools -> Account settings -> Server settings ->

Advanced -> "show only subscribed folders".
Now I can see all

folders.

I have just installed Windows 8, after previously using Windows 8 CP for many months.

Now I can't see all my Mercury folders from Thunderbird (IMAP).
My MERCURY\MAIL folder was not on my boot drive, so will not have changed at all.

- a few folders are missing completely
- a few folders are greyed-out (I know these ones have previously been renamed in Thunderbird)

What can I do to fix these?
Thanks!

I would start with accessing the IMAP folders using some other email client (like Pegasus) to see what happens. If you still get the same results it could be that something happened that damaged the folder hierarchy during the OS update. There is more information about that on the wiki: http://wiki.pmail.com/index.php?title=KB:Pegasus_Mail/Structure_of_HIERARCH.PM_File

In addition to what it says there I would probably make a backup copy of the mailbox directory before attempting to make any changes. It might be a good idea to remove old cache files (*.CAC) as well, after closing down Mercury.

I've installed Pegasus, and that _can_ see all my IMAP folders.
Thanks for the hint!

So, it is some sort of Thunderbird config error - it does have some confusing things, 'Sync' and 'Archive' options which I don't really need.

But can I live with the old PMAIL quirks?

Maybe I can use *both* clients in the meantime... as long as I don't try using both simultaneously?
