I have two, somewhat related, questions.

1) I'm in the midst of re-installing my o/s and all software onto a new HD.  After installing Pegasus I copied the files from the "admin" folder on my old drive into the admin folder on the new drive.  For some reason, SOME folders, although showing up in the new folder, don't appear in the "work with mail folders" window within the software.  How can I make them appear??

2) I had to do an emergency re-install a few months ago and, by mistake, copied over the wrong set of old folders (from a back-up location), so I was missing all my mail for a specific time period.   When I did this new install I found the missing set of folders so copied them over to the new folder as well (having Pegasus mark them as "new" by adding the number 1 after the name).   I then removed the number 1 and then replaced the last number of the actual folder name with a new number (for example Fol04674 (1).pmm (and .pmi) were changed to Fol04675.  This successfully placed all the files from both  folders into the same folder in the "work with mail folders" window.

I later discovered one negative side effect - - if/when saving a file to that specific folder, it disappears, i.e., the "merged" folder won't accept it.  I realized this after saving and mailing a number of letters and went back to refer to one of them only to find that there it was, gone...   Is there a work-around or would it be necessary to create new folders for everything and then copy all the old mail into them??

Thanks for any/all help that anybody can provide.

That folder list is maintained by a file named heirarch.pm located in the mailbox folder, \admin in your case.  With Pegasus closed, rename the hierarch.pm file.  When Pegasus starts it will rebuild the file based on the .pmm/pmi folder file pairs that it finds in the mailbox folder.  Hopefully this will solve the problem.  Copying files from a different install can be tricky so there may be more to the solution but rebuilding the hierarch.pm file is a good place to start.

Pegasus doesn't user the folder names but used unique folder ID numbers.  This can cause problems when copying folder files between mailbox folders.  Creating new folders and moving the messages to the new folders would insure that you have a unique ID for each folder.
