Hello!
I apologize for asking something which I'm sure has been posted many times (it has its own place in the FAQ!) but I am wanting to make sure I get it right because I have important information (receipts, passwords, etc.) stored in different "saved info" folders that I MUST not mess up or lose.
I have read the FAQ and have done this before (about 9 years ago) when changing to the currently dying machine when it was new. It appears I should copy the PMAIL directory in my main, 'C' drive before doing anything. After doing this, I paste all this info into a new PMAIL directory created on the new machine's 'C:' drive before then installing the current version of Pegasus (4.53) over the pasted information from ver 4.52. OK, so far?
This should preserve my files and folders in the new version and all will be right with the world. [:)] I am also using Windows XP 32 bit and the new computer is Windows 7 64 bit and that concerns me a bit, also. Will it make a difference? My directory structure looks like this:
WINPMAIL.EXE directory: C:\PMAIL\Programs
Home mailbox location: C:\PMAIL\MAIL\ADMIN
New mailbox location: C:\PMAIL\MAIL\ADMIN
So if I copy C:\PMAIL and paste into a newly created file on the new machine I'll be all right? (Please tell me it will! [:|]). If I am missing anything please advise and thank you to any and all that can help me get this right and to calm my anxiety with this move!!!
