Maiser commands???

Found the problem. My test message was copied to self for use on subsequent tests. I looked fine on resends but when I opened it I could see that there was a tab after "password" in the password line. That tab looks like a space in the new message window.

Where do I get info on maiser commands and how to issue them? Specifically ones for managing Mercury, like "reload users".

The main purpose of MAISER is list handling, so reload users is sort of a bonus feature. Still it should probably be documented in the manual, I'll pass that on.

Thanks Rolf but I'm still unclear about what the reload user command is and how to submit it to maiser. Do I simply send an email To: maiser with the contents "reload users"?

<p>Thanks Rolf but I'm still unclear about what the reload user command is and how to submit it to maiser.&nbsp; Do I simply send an email To: maiser with the contents "reload users"?</p><p> </p>

I searched the discussion list archives and found info on the RELOAD USERS command. Maiser acknowledges receipt but is looking for an administrator password. The contents of the message I submitted to maiser was:

password xxxxxxxxx

reload users

The only passwords I am aware of are the user passwords and I have admin privileges but my password isn't accepted. Is there another admin password configured in Mercury that I have forgotten about?

I believe the reload user command expects the Mercury postmaster password.

I can't get it to work. I added a password to the Postmaster user but that didn't work. Tried a couple of other users as postmasters and messed with aliases but no joy.

In the Mail Server Configuration screen is an entry for the path to an "Admin passwords file". Thinking this might be it I created the file with a single password entry and pointed to it but that didn't work. I find no documentation about the Admin passwords file in either the help file or the manual so don't know what it's purpose is. Anyway, in reading old posts in the discussion list archives I found mention of reloading users by holding down the Ctrl key while selecting the 'manage local users' menu item. This accomplishes what I need. Still, it would be nice to figure out why I can't get a password to be accepted by maiser.

How to create a maiser password file in your Mercury directory: (for example: msrpwd.mer)

1. Goto Mercury/Configuration/Mail server/General
Admin passwords file: D:\MERCURY\msrpwd.mer -> Press [Edit]
write an pw, for example: 3001aWz12
 Save
 Save
2. Send an email to maiser@YourDomain.com with a content:
 password 3001aWz12
 reload users
3. If no errors occurs, you get an email from your maiser with a content:
The mail server has processed your commands as follows:
 * Your RELOAD USERS command has been processed successfully.

Note: Maiser pw is independent from admin pw

I have discovered that it works when I send to maiser from the 'Send email message' function in Mercury but fails when I send from my Pegasus Mail client. Is this normal?

If the message is sent as plain text from Pegasus it should work. HTML coded messages won't work, though.
