Slow reaction SEND after installation s/MIME idw
Ahoj Michael - feeling very honoured to get the response from you personally :-)
I'm afraid nobody else would have a good answer for you: I don't really think a lot people are still using encryption at all these days ...
The AutoList could be the problem. I had imported the full list of certificates that I got - several thousands of addresses and I will need less than 1% of them...
Just add or keep the ones you need ...
With "disable of enable various features", what do you mean?

As such, I don 't need an AutoList - I now switched off  the Auto Encryption in the configuration -> encoding menu and that gives instant sending again when not encrypted and a bit, but acceptable, waiting time for encyption.
That's exactly what I meant and it served its purpose obviously.

Yesterday I had to make a new install of Pegasus Mail 4.63 and then installed the s/MIME idw add-on because I need to use s/MIME. Since that moment, it takes ages between hitting the SEND button for a new message and the pop-up window asking whether I want to save a copy coming up. Ages means a few minutes... I have checked the printer settings and there is a default printer installed - the one I always had. I also  have a second copy of PMAIL running without the s/MIME idw add for another email account and this does not have the problem.

I did install also the patches that Michael worked out last December for one of my colleagues in Greenpeace to address some problems...

Any suggestions how to tackle this?

Do you have large address books? The extension checks recipient addresses against the AutoList on sending to figure out whether it needs to sign or encrypt messages automatically. You may try to disable or enable various features of the extension to see whether any of them has an effect on this - I can only make blind guesses since nobody else ever reported this. A short delay is unavoidable, but it shouldn't take minutes.

Thanks for the clues!
